Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for her performance as Detective Diane Russell. She is also known for her role in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Born as the only daughter to a senior executive of the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney had a family of four brothers. When she was a kid she was aspired to become a court reporter. After graduating from high school and relocating to New York in the 1980s, she began modeling. Her first role as an actor was as a teenage innocent as a child in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Her career as an actor has been awash with a variety of television shows and dramas. Like her career, her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The skilled actor had to battle alcoholism, and has had two divorces. Her custody was taken away from her son in 2005.
