Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial arts artist, and competing with the UFC flyweight division. She is the older sister of another fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career started out as an Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and later defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina Shevchenko took home a second gold medal in 2007 with a bronze award in 2008. She also won the gold in 2011, she was named the 2015 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion. Antonia's professional debut was in 2003. In 2012, she took home in the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship as well as in the year 2016 she took home the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's final fight took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She took the fight by the unanimous verdict. Antonina Shevchenko shattered her first professional MMA record in 2002 when she fought at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She was able to win the second-round TKO fight as well as her two fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. She was able to record the record being 3-0. Shevchenko put on a pause from MMA to concentrate on her kickboxing and made her comeback to fight Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa with a majority decision. She she then beat Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she resigned from the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina's striking skills were superior and enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Following this victory, Antonina signed a UFC contract. Antonina received her a UFC contract after winning. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi with a split decision fight following her first fight by unanimous decision. Antonina recovered from her loss to defeat Lucie Pudilova during UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke, and was awarded the fight of the night bonus for the fight.
